Below are three cakes we’ve decorated with flowers. They are featured in the Summer 2010 issue of Tampa Bay Weddings Magazine. The top right cake by Chocolate Pi is adorned with fresh green cymbidium orchids. The center cake has a fresh rose topper. The bottom right cake by Cakes by Nomeda has fresh roses on top then cascading down. The first two cakes are photographed by Limelight.

Another beautiful wedding graces the pages of a magazine. Mary and Jason exchange vows at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown Tampa. The Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf  Club in downtown St. Petersburg, hosts the celebration for family and friends. The floral and decor designs by us, La Vie en Rose Design. Here are four pages from the Tampa Bay Weddings Magazine feature. Aaron Lockwood Studios provides the images. The four page spread follows.

Always improving

July 12th, 2010

As an artist honing their skill it is imperative to continually challenge oneself to push the outer edges of the envelope… throughout the year we are fortunate to be in the presence of some of the greatest influences in our industry… from floral designers to photographers to event planners… these men and women are the leaders whose names and likeness you’d recognize in a heartbeat… not just for their celebrity clientele but for their body of work. We have the honor and privilege, to not just see and meet them for an hour or two… we share significant time with them… at times days on end… learning and listening to their sage advice in business, life and craftsmanship. To have a master share the final product and then retrace their steps… allowing you to develop not just the technical skill… more importantly the creative vision that defines us individually. We continue on our path… listening… learning… living… and always improving.

Lights

May 30th, 2010

LED mood lighting

How do you set the mood for your evening… lighting. You have your venue and you look around and see everything brightly illumimnated. This is perfect for a business seminar not your wedding. Let’s start with how lighting affects your guests. Now think of an evening at the theatre… dimly lit seating with focused lights illuminating the set and actors drawing your attention to the performance on stage. Back to your wedding… as your friends and family enter… a wash of color softens the walls immediately signaling a change… pinspots illuminate your centerpieces drawing their eyes up and away from the multicolored carpet… a custom monogram projected catches their gaze and they know they have arrived… looking forward to an amazing experience celebrating your first evening as husband and wife. This will only be accomplished if done properly… with equipment and placement. Having a few lights here and there is money better spent elsewhere… no one enjoys a watered down drink. Achieving the look is quality of equipment and strategic placement… to be experienced and appreciated during and after in your photos. A properly lit room will glow in your photos.

Linens

May 27th, 2010

Linens are the canvas for your tablescape… offering a blank surface to each layer upon layer adding detail and texture. The first brush stoke is your color selection of a base linen… a bold splash of color in which to build upon… draping over your table flowing to the floor. With a firm grasp of your brush… an overlay refines your color and visually enhances the senses as the changing light reveals subtle nuances of texture. Place settings offer another layer to express your individual style. Pick up your brush… this time with a gentle stroke… a napkin crowns the setting… waking up the vibrance of the base color. As you continue to reveal your savoir-faire… the final brush stroke emerges… a chair cover exalts the tablescape and eagerly awaits the floral centerpiece…
